Dean Fisher

Dean A Fisher of Eau Claire, WI passed away on October 11th, 2025 at the age of 98. Dean was born to LaVergne and Hazel Fisher on June 27th, 1927 in Eau Claire, WI. He attended Ninth Ward Elementary, E.C Junior High, E.C. Senior High School, and Julian Union High in Julian, CA.

Dean married Kathryn McConnell in San Diego, CA on March, 15th 1949 and soon after, moved back to Eau Claire where they raised three children. Dean and Kathryn started building their own home in 1971 on Woodhaven Rd where he would live the remainder of his life. After Kathryn's passing in 1988, Dean married Beverly Cahill of Winslow, AZ.

During his working years, he was a custodian for Eau Claire Public Schools until he retired in 1989 after 21 years of service. Dean belonged to the Moose Club, Elks Club, and attended St. Olaf Catholic Church in Eau Claire. He enjoyed nature and the outdoors and spent much of his free time fishing, hunting, and cutting wood.

Dean is survived by wife Beverly Cahill-Fisher of 37 years, daughter Sharon Smith of Eau Clarie, WI, son Rodney Fisher of Merril, WI, daughter Susan Fisher of Eau Claire, WI, grandson Brian Smith of Eau Clarie, WI, granddaughter Andrea Smith of Longbranch, WA, grandson Nick Fisher of Merrill, WI, great-grandson Riley Fisher of Fall Creek, WI, great granddaughter Laila Fisher of Fall Creek, WI, and great grandson Nolan Huls of Longbranch, WA.

Dean is preceded in death by his first wife of 39 years Katherine Fisher of Julian, CA, parents Laverne and Hazel, and grandson Timothy Fisher of Merrill, WI.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 20 at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, with Fr. James Kurzynski officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Private burial will take place at Wankea Cemetery rural Elk Mound.
