Carol Elizabeth Weigel

Carol E. (Lappin) Weigel, age 94, of Birchwood (Long Lake) WI, passed away peacefully April 2, 2026 in her home with family by her side. She was born October 11th, 1931, in LaCrosse, WI to Arthur and Jenny (Daniels) Lappin. On March 28th, 1953, she married her high school sweetheart, Thomas E. Weigel, and together they raised four children.

Carol enjoyed many years attending exercise classes at the YMCA and serving her community delivering Meals on Wheels in Winona, MN. She and Tom also enjoyed many years wintering in Florida.

Carol is survived by her husband of 73 years, Thomas E. Weigel; her children: Cindy (Jeff) Bentz; Steve (Sue) Weigel; Sandy Meier; and Scott (Argentina) Weigel. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Ryan (Maria) Becker, Tom (Kady) Weigel, William (Amanda) Weigel, Bekah (Ron) Thompson, Rachel (Brennon) Hester, Jake Meier, Andy (Rachel Schuster) Weigel, James Weigel, Colton Bentz, Libby Weigel, and Josh Weigel; 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Shirley Lappin of LaCrosse and her brother-in-law, Jim Weigel of Valencia, CA.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Gene Lappin, her brothers-in-law, Robert E. Weigel and Gerald F. Weigel; and her sisters-in-law, Lorraine "Lori" (Weigel) Rau and Patricia "Patsy" (Weigel) Goyette.

Carol was the heart and soul of our family and will be dearly missed. At Carol's request, there will be no services. Interment at a later date at The Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
