Carol (Lawson) Lee, 93, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on December 20, 2025.
Carol was born in Stevens County, Minnesota on October 24, 1932 to Carl and Hazel Lawson. She married Llewellyn Lee on January 15, 1955 in Eau Claire. They were just shy of celebrating 71 years together.
Carol worked for Wisconsin Bell/AT&T as a switchboard and directory assistance operator in Eau Claire for over 30 years. She enjoyed many hobbies including jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, playing card games, baking, canning, golf, bowling, camping, fishing, and making crafts to share with family and many others. She volunteered countless hours with the Telephone Pioneers of America making crafts to share with nursing homes and other organizations for many years.
Carol is survived by her husband, Llewellyn Lee, three children, Lauren (Kay) Lee of Eau Claire, Sharon (Mark Wick) Miller of Lake Hallie, and Randy (Lisa) Lee of Luck. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren-Ryan Lee, Kaitee (Mike) Pavlich, Jeremy (Krista) Miller, Justin (Kyla) Miller, Brady (Emma Hardina) Lee, Mackenzie Lee, and Abbigail (Jory Wagner) Lee, and 13 great grandchildren-Mataya Pavlich, Mya Hamilton and her children Elijah and Elianah, Aiden Allen, Rylee Pavlich, Ayla Pavlich, Londyn Miller, Nolan Miller, Desmond McDew, Ava Williams, Tahlia Miller, Amelia Miller, Nova Miller, and Rory Miller. She is further survived by one sister-Jewel Creaser of Menomonie, one brother-David Lawson of Menomonie, and sisters in-law Catherine Lee and Linda (Carl) Cruse as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents-Carl and Hazel Lawson, her mother and father in-law-Loren & Esther Lee, sisters Georgia Vernon, Frieda Erickson, Alice Larrabee, and Pauline Lawson, brother-Carl Lawson, brothers in-law Rodney Vernon, Everett Erickson, Roy Larrabee, and Robert Creaser, and great grandson Brody Pavlich.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Mayo Eau Claire and LaCrosse for their kind care of Carol.
Funeral service will be held on January 10, 2026 at 11 am at Truax Congregational United Church of Christ with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date.
