Bruce Robert Donaldson

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Bruce Donaldson aka "Robert the Bruce" and "Bruce Almighty," 74 years old, notify of his death on Thursday, June 25, 2026. Bruce passed away peacefully at his home in Chippewa Falls, WI, 4 months after his cancer diagnosis.

Bruce was born at Luther Hospital on Christmas Eve 1951. He was raised and grew up on the family farm in the town of Union Eau Claire, WI and graduated in 1970 from Memorial High School.

Bruce met his wife, Bridget, on October 10, 1992 at a Christian singles club gathering at Café Mozart in Durand, Wisconsin. They were united in marriage at the Rutledge Mansion, Chippewa Falls on June 12, 1993.

Bruce was a dairy farmer and then retired as a courier driver. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and ATVs, and competed in motorcycle hill climbing events. He was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed his 1980 Chevy El Camino. In his later years he enjoyed RC airplanes and RC cars. He was a competitive bicycle racer and once participated in a 200-mile race.

Bruce is survived by his wife Bridget; Sisters Diane (Bob) Long and Jan Andresen (Tony) of Chippewa Falls and Brother Mark (Deanna) Donaldson of Winter Gardens, Florida; nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert (Bob) and Marilyn (Gloria) Donaldson.

The family of Bruce wants to express their gratitude to the Chippewa Area Ambulance EMT's, step force volunteers at Mayo Clinic, Kirsten at Mayo Home Health Care, and a special thank you to Kaitlin, Susie, Nicole, Michelle, Amber, and Heidi at St Croix Hospice for their tender loving care.

According to Bruce's wishes, there will be no service. Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Altoona is assisting the family.
