Bradley John LaPoint

September 17, 1958 — May 15, 2026

Bradley John LaPoint, age 67, died May 15, 2026 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire. Brad was the man you wanted in your corner when life was tough, but also when it was joyful.

He was a friend and mentor, a husband and father. His circle was wide because his heart and arms were open to so many people who were fortunate enough to cross his path. Brad was born in Eau Claire on September 17, 1958 to Harold and Donna LaPoint. He was a 1977 graduate of Fall Creek Schools, worked for United Parcel Service for 20 years, attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire to receive his teaching degree, and then Viterbo University to receive his master's degree in Educational Leadership. Brad returned to his alma mater of Fall Creek as teacher, dean of students, athletic director, and principal, serving the district he loved and the students and colleagues he cared about deeply.

After retirement in 2020, he worked as a student teacher supervisor for UW-Green Bay, again working with young people as they transitioned into the field of education. While he was proud of his professional accomplishments, he was most proud of his children, Paige and Blake, and his twin grandchildren, Petra and August. He will be so missed.

Brad is survived by his wife of 40 years, Monika; daughter, Paige (husband, Michael); son, Blake; and grandchildren Petra and August. In addition, he leaves behind his mother, Donna; his sister, Marsha Fliehr (husband, Randy); and brother, Paul. He was predeceased by his father, Harold.

Brad cherished his cabin on beautiful Marion Lake in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is there where we will pay our continued respects to the man whom we will miss terribly. When the sun is shining on the links, the loons are calling on the lake, the Badgers or Packers are on the field, raise a glass for Brad and remember his smile.

Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Altoona is assisting the family. Online condolences may be shared at www.cremationsociety-wi.com.
