Bart Frandsen

March 30, 1940 — June 28, 2025

Bart Frandsen, age 85, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. In addition to his many recent years in Eau Claire, Bart was a longtime resident of Superior, Wisconsin. He was born in Bone Lake, Wisconsin, and lived a full and meaningful life marked by hard work, deep love for his family, and an unforgettable sense of humor.

Throughout his life, Bart pursued a wide range of careers, beginning as a truck driver and eventually owning Superior Forest Products. He also founded three day care centers in the Twin Ports area-endeavors that reflected his entrepreneurial spirit and his commitment to serving the community.

Bart is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Madeleine (Brandt) Frandsen; their three children, Todd Frandsen, Beth (Frandsen) Thune, and Tim Frandsen; and his son-in-law Todd Thune, who was like another son to him. He was the proud grandfather of Katie and Sarah Thune-his "favorite" (and only!) granddaughters, who brought him endless joy. He is also survived by his brother Paul (Betty) Frandsen, Jerry Huang, nieces and nephews, and many cousins.

Those who knew Bart will remember his deep love for the outdoors and his talent for building. Whether constructing a cabin in the woods, restoring Duluth's Jefferson Elementary School into apartment homes, or designing and building the beautiful home he and Madeleine made their own, Bart poured his heart into every project. His joy in hard work and his appreciation for nature were a true reflection of his grounded, generous spirit.

Perhaps most memorable was Bart's sense of humor-quick, warm, and full of heart. With a twinkle in his eye, he had a way of teasing those he cared about most. If Bart was joking with you, you knew you were one of his favorite people.

Bart's presence, wisdom, and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A special thank you to Cambridge Senior Living and Lily Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion.
