Ardis S Nystuen

Ardis (Ardy) Sigrid Dorr Nystuen, 94, of Altoona, Wisconsin, died May 31, 2026.

Ardy was born in Crookston, MN March 5, 1932. She graduated from Mentor (MN) High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor's Degree from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN.

She then worked as a high school Biology teacher for ten years. On September 26, 1964, Ardy married Rev. Theodore Nystuen.

She enjoyed sewing, painting and other creative arts her whole life. She and Ted sold their works at craft shows in the region after his retirement. They also travelled often in the U.S. and Europe.

Ardy is preceded in death by parents Einar and Selma (Johnson) Dorr and husband Theodore Nystuen.

Ardy is survived by step-children Rebecca Berger (Tom), Pamela Brodkorb (Tim), and Nancy Nystuen (Ann). She is also survived by granddaughters Andrea (Sandi) and Berit (Stephanie) Brodkorb, brother-in-law David Nystuen, several cousins, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends Eileen and Jim, and Ken and Linda.

The family wishes to thank St. Croix Hospice for the care they provided.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 5, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, followed by a luncheon. A private Burial will precede the funeral. Memorials, if desired, should go to Trinity Lutheran Church.
