It is with the deepest of sorrows that we announce the passing of Ann Marie Nicolai, 55, of Boyceville, WI. Her battles with chronic pain came to an end the morning of Sunday April 5th, 2026.
Ann was born at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI on Wednesday, July 1st, 1970. She lived her entire childhood with her father, Butch Nicolai, her mother, Cindy Thompson, and little sister, Kristi Jo, in a traditional family home off of Riverview Drive. Whenever asked about her school-years, Ann made it perfectly clear she in fact did not belong to one strict clique, rather, she got along well with most of the classmates brave enough to approach someone with such a tough exterior.
Ann devoted her life to her two children: Dylan James Henning (Eau Claire, WI) and Danica Marie Henning (Eau Claire, WI). She was also very proud of her 16+ years of commitment to Andersen Windows Inc of Menomonie. That commitment only ended when she began her health battles with Diabetes and Heart Failure. Once disabled, Ann was unable to enjoy her other passion, riding Harley. Her motorcycle adventures had even brought her out to Sturgis a time or two. She eventually sold her Harley Davidson Softail Springer and bought a side-by-side for her family to enjoy.
Ann moved to Boyceville, WI in 2014, where she resided for the remainder of her life with her truest-love and fiancé, Ronald (Ron) Gove. Whom not only loved Ann unconditionally all of those end-years, but never stopped supporting her through the tough health decisions and surgeries she entailed the whole time. Ron and Ann most enjoyed the nights consisting of campfires, cribbage, wildlife watching or visits from the kids.
Ann is survived by her closest family: Ron, Dylan, Danica, Shawna, Lainey, Jon and her fur babies; Chewy, Dixie, and Little Kitty.
Ann is preceded in death by her father, her mother, her sister, her best friend-Pam Vogler, and many extended family members.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all of the staff members of Mayo Clinic Dialysis and Handi-Lift Transportation; whom helped Ann extend her time with loved ones an additional four years.
A Celebration of Life is to be held at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel on the evening of Thursday April 23rd, 2026 from 3pm to 6pm at 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway. Altoona, WI 54720
