Anita Kristine Nashlund

Anita Kristine Nashlund died on August 10, 2026. She grew up in Chetek, where she lived with her parents Julius and Edna Nashlund and brother, Lauren.

She pursued her love of music at the University of Wisconsin, Superior and Madison, earning both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree.

While performing as a pianist and oboist, her greatest success was in teaching. She taught for the school district of Maple and was a faculty member at UW Superior, the College of St. Scholastica, and the University of Minnesota, Duluth. Her students have been members of the National Symphony, toured with the New York Philharmonics, the Boston Symphony, and been on the faculties of various universities.

Her greatest thrills were performing at the Orchestra Hall, Minneapolis, Northwestern University, and at the International Double Reed Conference in Texas.

She was a musician with The Duluth Superior Symphony, Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra, and the United Presbyterian Church of Rice Lake, Wisconsin.

She leaves behind some old and new friends.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
