Amanda Jean Proue

Oct 20, 1981 — Sep 15, 2026

With profound sadness, we share the news of the peaceful passing of Amanda Proue, 44, of Eau Claire, WI

On October 20, 1981, Brenda Powers and John Proue gave the world the gift of Amanda Jean Proue. She and her brother Ken Powers grew up together in Eau Claire, WI. In 1984, Brenda Powers, her two children, along with John Webber and his son Nate, blended their families and gave their children the great outdoors in northern WI.

They spent their summers camping and canoeing with their parents and family friends. Adventures in the Northwoods included causing trouble, stealing B&H cigarettes, listening to stories and loving music around the campfire. Nature would continue to be important to Amanda.

In her teenage years, Amanda became an aunt to Alicia Powers. In her mid-20's, Amanda created two perfect tiny humans, Braylen and Cyler. Then in her later years she became a great aunt to Alicia's son Johnathon, who we all adore.

These last few years, she has been building a life with her partner, Todd Hebert while struggling with ongoing health issues due to diabetes and kidney failure. She spent these last year's loving and being loved by her partner with their very special love language

There's not enough space to include all of the people that Amanda touched in this lifetime. Amanda's superpower was listening and nurturing in a maternal healthy caring way. She didn't listen to respond; she listened to hear what people were telling her. Anyone who knew Amanda felt heard and understood.

As a friend of Amanda, you never knew if you were going to go rock collecting by the river, commit a crime, enjoy a morning coffee, spot a dragonfly, go to a thrift shop or spot a yard sale. She was always up for rescuing an animal and seizing the moment. When she left us, mother earth lost a little shine and got a little darker.

She is survived by her father, John Proue, Second Father John Webber, her life partner Todd Hebert, sons Braylen Wiebold and Cyler Wiebold, Step-Brother Nate Webber, niece Alicia Powers, and great nephew Johnathon Powers.

Amanda is preceded in death by her mother, Brenda Powers and brother Kenneth Powers.
