Preplan Funding Options

Prepaying for your final expenses can be one of the greatest gifts you leave your loved ones. The peace of mind that it offers them is truly priceless.

We understand however that not everyone can afford to pay for those expenses all at once. Whether you are pre-paying for your cremation or traditional funeral, we offer the option of either making a one-time payment, or paying over time. Our Preneed Specialists can work with you to come up with a plan that suits your need. You can make monthly payments until you have reached the amount you desire. Please note that for those making monthly payments, the services will not be guaranteed until paid in full.

The biggest benefit that we offer for those that prepay for their final expenses is a price guarantee. For cremations, once it is paid, the price is guaranteed never to go up. Even if the price for our cremation has doubled by the time the need arises, no more money is due for the cremation expense. We can also guarantee certain funeral home expenses for traditional funerals as well. Our Preneed Specialists will explain to you at the time of your prearrangement conference which fees are eligible for guarantee.

Money may be set aside for many other expenses as well, including a funeral or memorial service, cemetery expenses, flowers, clergy, etc. Please note that any cash advance expenses (those paid to a third party) are not guaranteed, as those costs are beyond our control. However any interest that accrues on those funds is credited at the time of death to help offset potential increases.

Other Payment Options

We offer several payment options to assist families in paying for final expenses. We accept personal checks, credit or debit cards, money orders, PayPal, and verifiable insurance assignments. Payment is generally due at the time services are completed. Please note that we do not accept estate claims, so other payment arrangements will need to be made.

In circumstances of true financial hardship, there may be other options. If the deceased was on certain state-funded aid programs (certain Medicaid benefits for example), they may be eligible for the Wisconsin Funeral and Cemetery Aids Program. Eligibility for this program is determined solely at the state agency level. If eligible, the limit on what the state program will pay is $1,500.00 for funeral home expenses and $1,000.00 for cemetery expenses. Other limitations apply, so please contact us for more details. If you think your loved one may qualify for this benefit we are able to check for you between the hours of M & W 8:30am - 4:00pm and F 8:30am-12:00pm, closed holidays. We are no longer able to check someone's eligibility prior to passing.

If the deceased is not eligible for the state aid program, we can also refer you to our non-profit organization Helpful Hearts Foundation. The charity’s mission is to offer dignified cremation and burial services to low-income families in Wisconsin. The organization website and application for assistance can be found here.
